The Product: Save A Gato was created in 2004 to address the booming cat population around historic Old San Juan. Save A Gato is a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare and care of the cats of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico through TNR, fostering, and adoption.
The Problem: Foster homes are needed for cats in Puerto Rico. People love cats, but are reluctant to accept the commitment of having a cat for 2 weeks to several months.
We found through research that 68% of those who’ve fostered an animal admit they’ve “foster failed,” where they end up adopting one of their foster pets. Of those, 87% knew they wanted to keep their furry friend “immediately” after meeting them.
The Insight: To fall in love with your furever friend you don’t need months, you need minutes. So we thought of a new way to foster that doesn’t feel like fostering…
The Solution: Rent-A-Gato, a digital activation that allows for a short-term cat “rental” fostering program on your time. Launched thtough a microsite for cat rental (Mobile and Desktop) though Save a Gato’s website. The campaign would be conducted over the holiday season (November-December), utilizing influencer marketing (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok).
Step 1
Rent-a-Gato will run a microsite linked to the Save A Gato main site.
Step 2
The web app lives under the website on Save a Gato’s main site. The homepage of the app includes 4 buttons on a menu: Rentar (Rent), Regresar (Return), Extender (Extend) and Mi Cuenta (My Account).
